During the 2025 RHPBA Convention / Reunion, several spouses organized a spouses’ event at the Springs Preserve (https://www.springspreserve.org/), commonly known as the “birthplace of Las Vegas.”
The Springs Preserve is an 180-acre cultural institution designed to commemorate Las Vegas’ dynamic history.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1978, the site features museums, galleries, outdoor events, a colorful botanical garden, and an interpretive trail system.

Meet in the lobby of the Silverton at 8:30 a.m. and carpool to the preserve
Cost: $11/per person (admission only)
Please RSVP by October 6, 2025 – tickets will be purchased in advance for this reduced price.
Tickets include the following areas of the preserve:

Springs Preserve: OriGen Museum, Boomtown, Waterworks, Botanical Garden & Trails

Nevada State Museum
We will tour the preserve as a group or can split up and meander. Following the tour (and meandering), plan to meet for lunch at the Cafe on site at 12:00 p.m. Lunch – cost on your own. The Vegas Spring Reserve closes at 4:00 p.m.

Will there be a tour of the red horse area 2 base during this reunion week?
Anthony – Yes, on Oct 16 we will travel to NAFB Area II, the location of the 800th RHG, 820th RHS, 801st RHTS, etc. The 99 CES will also be present at Area II. You will need to pay $30/person for the bus ride and lunch. If you don’t have a retired mil ID, we will need your SSN and copy of your DL asap to get you on the EAL for base access. Doug
